Soothsayin' Saloon is my thesis project from Ringling College of Art + Design, where I took this short film from its initial pitch all the way down the pipeline to final compositing. Through this production, I've gained experience pitching, songwriting, designing, storyboarding, modeling, rigging, animating, texturing, lighting, and editing my own animated short film–and had a blast doing it!
As someone focused on character animation and writing, a musical number was the way to go. I wanted this film to allow me to really highlight the acting choices, lip sync, lyrics, and attitude of the characters, and with the advice of my peers and faculty, I created a short film I'm very happy with!
